Graveyard Witchcraft & Desecration Altar — Split
Here’s a wall noise split with a rather sacrilegious cover- featuring a perversely altered statue of the Virgin Mary. Featured are two thickly seared example of the wall form- one from Indiana-based Graveyard Witchcraft, and the other from South Carolina's Desecration Altar.
So first up, we have Graveyard Witchcraft’s track “Ejaculating Blacked Fluid”. This runs at dead on the twenty-minute mark, and really has the perfect title. It’s built away several sways of thickly spurting & spraying noise tones- there’s an airless bass tumble/ gallop, a swirling hiss, and a ragged rolling mid-ranged tone. Together these elements create this rather thick and swirling ‘wall’, which seems to hang heavy the air- like a mass of circling/ buzzing large shit-encased flies.
Next, we of course have South Carolina's Desecration Altar- this is a new project from Krys Marshall( Absurd Reality,No Fun HNW, etc). The track is entitled “ Beneath Bowels Of Pestilence and Perversion” which runs at the 15.12 mark. This ‘wall’ is all about crudely hacking/ cluttering textures- we have a steadily spurting faeces low end, a rattling static flow, and further off-beat roll. The textures seem to get more tangled up in each other, the further the track goes on- but I suspect this is just a trick of the ‘wall’, and the whole is somewhat set.
If you like your walls crude, nasty, and Christian faith perverting, then this split will be for you.
