Goghal is an Belgium based one man HNW/ Harsh Noise project that’s been active since 2008, and  “Aeger” is seemingly the project first purely HNW release. The release comes in the form of a CDR that features a single forty eight minute slice of fairly active, brutally ripped,  yet searing & dense walled noise.

The ‘wall’ smashers straight in on your ears with a mixture of: jittering & chopping slightly sparking noise that’s underfed by a constant rolling caustic ‘n’ semi billowing drone matter. As the track moves on Goghal seems to subtle shift the jittering & chopping tones to create these sudden waves and build-ups of texturing which give one the feeling that the tones are multiplying & literally pour out of your speakers & crashing and battering around you.  The tracks structure seemingly alternates between more semi settled & less manic yet dense & brutal walled noise, and more cascading, descending & battering like walled noise- yet there’s never a break in the tracks constant & seared structure, as Goghal keeps it intense & dense through-out. This ‘wall’ really sucks you deep into its thick & huge structure, and it doesn’t release you until near on fifty minute later when the track ends.

All told this is a very competent, involving & caustically enchanting first HNW release from this project, and I very much look forward to hearing what it does next.
