FoulOpiate

[Self release — 2012]

“Opiate” is just under an hours worth of dense, swirling & searing walled noise that perfectly fits the heady yet body battering & devastating narcotic of it’s title. Foul is a long running dark & brutal  HNW project from West Virginia, and it’s that’s all the work of J. Cadle (White Torture,...Massacre, Oasis Of Fear & HCV).

The single track on offer here comes in at the 56.53 minute mark, and it finds Mr Cadle offering up a truly dense ‘n’ battering, yet swirling & often shifting slice of walled noise. The ‘wall’ is built around a base of buffeting ‘n’ battering meaty  noise texturing, and this has shifting over it layers of searing, caustically whirling, grating, and swirling noise.  The track moves along in a truly unforgiving ‘n’ un-thinning  manner, with Mr Cadle first roasting & swirling one tone after another- from time to time a few tones swirl & boil up towards high-end noise making, but for the most part this focuses in on lower to  mid end noise texturing.  The track does certainly  seem to intensify the longer it goes on, as Mr Cadle brews, boils & roast one tone after another- yet the buffeting ‘n’ battering base never really moves much in it’s focused brutality.

All told this is a wonderful brutal yet evolving piece of dense wall making, and even when it’s over you’ll find your self wanting to hear it again….just a like the tracks narcotic title. This release is another download-so pop over to the releases listing on discog's here. I do hope that some sensible label picks-up these download only  Foul releases, and puts them out on CDR or tape- as the quality of all these releases thus far have been great, and of course when the link goes down the release is  lost for good.
