Fistula — Goat

“Goat” find’s Ohio based ultra sludge doom/death merchants Fistula offering up an five song ep based around the case of 50 year old Anthony Sowell who was charged with eighty five counts of rape and murder after the police found  11 bodies at his Cleveland, Ohio department in October 2009.

The five tracks here are all extremely nasty and very ugly slices of brutalised metal with the pace, often with-in the same track, going from slow 'shove to head' doom and sick sludge attacks, to mid-pace slightly discordant chugs, upto faster and flailing punk doom crusted trash-outs. Over the top of the tracks brutal and nasty mettlics are gutturally and pained male vocal yells and screams by vocalist Steve Barcus. and also littered through-out and underneath the tracks shifting riff brutally are lengthy samples from news reports detailing Sowell case, plus interviews with families of his victims and neighbours- which really adds to the nasty and ugly feel of the music.

With “Goat” Fistula have conjured up a selection of sick, nasty and ugly tracks that batter, brutalise, and suffocate you. So if you dig really sickly & slugged mixture of doom, death metal, with hints of crusty & vomit splattered trash metal this is very worthy of your time.
