Female Harakiri — The Wave Petals
The single 40.56 track is built around a very dense & overloaded ‘wall’ that takes in a mixture of thick lower-to-mid ranged rumbling ‘n’ churning crunch bond noise, & a selection of thinner jittering & slightly hissing static sub-tones. The ‘wall’ opens in very full, thick & crowded manner, and it just seems to get more & more overwhelming & completely engulfing as it progresses- though this is very much a firm & fixed piece of dense walled noise.
As fixed & overloaded wall-making goes this is a well put together slice of HNW, but for me it just rather lacked that all important entrancing/ hypnotic feel- so my attention did start to wonder around the mid way point. So if you enjoy dense & engulfing HNW it’s worth a look, but this is certainly not my favourite Female Harakiri- that prize goes to 2011’s Death Of Chizuko Mifune
