Edda Dell'Orso — Voice
The twenty one tracks on offer here break up into- twelve Morricone tracks, four Armando Trovajoli tracks, three Piero Piccioni tracks, and a track a piece from Robert Pregadio & Giacomo Dell'Orso. The tracks date from between 1968 & 1982, from mostly fairly unknown movies, taking in soundtrack work from: police dramas, sexualized thrillers, comedy dramas, Giallo, Horror, period drama, Spaghetti western, & adventure sci-fi.
The tracks move from sensual & swirling easy listening string ‘n’ harpsichord swooned sound tracking. Onto more jaunting up-beat pop jazz work-outs, though to lazy ‘n’ hazy trumpet & organ drifts. Onto rising choral sombreness, through to galloping & haunting western sound tracking, onto quirky vibe led exotica tinged 60’s pop. All told the album slips by in a very pleasing, and mostly chilled out manner- with Edda’s vocals rising in a heady/misty manner around each soundtrack composition.
So if you’re a fan of 60’s or 70’s soundtracks that have a distinct presence of mostly wordless & sensual vocals “Voice” will be right up your street. I can also see this appealing to those who enjoy exotica & more female vocal tipped easy listening too.
