Ecoute La Merde — Dammi La Frondola
The release comes in the form of a CDR that comes in the house style sleeve of all the Irritant Series releases. These all feature a colour picture of an old industrial site wall with a fence running along it’s full length, but each release has it’s own distinct mini picture on the front. For this release it’s what looks like a bloody b movie still of a blood drenched face.
The single untitled track on offer here comes in at the 47.03 mark. The ‘wall’ is very dense, suffocating & truly overwhelming- it’s based around a interlocking mass of several crackling static tones that have this sort of worming ‘n’ rapid jittering feel to them. The 'wall' remains very thick & restrictive through-out it’s full length, but here & there I’m sure I can make out subtle shifts with-in the tracks textural layers, but I’m not positive about this & of course these could just be a trick of the ‘wall’ it self. On the whole this is a rewarding & brutal submersion in almost total static textural white-out.
It’s certainly been a few years since I’ve heard/ reviewed some of this projects work, it’s always nice to hear that they still have they still have the ability to make rewarding yet un-escapable walled noise. Certainly ones for those who enjoy really dense ‘wall’ submersions
