Deep Throat Choir — Golem
And the glaring fault is the production- the whole track is just recorded at such a low & weedy sounding level; meaning you have to pump the volume right-up to even make-out some of what’s going on here & even then it just sounds flat & well rather weak. Harsh Noise Wall is all about engulfing & swallowing you in boiling sound, but this just lightly pissers on you due to the limb production. That said if you whack the sound way-up you can make out a quite interesting, crackling & flowing river of static tone thickness & depth- that sometimes has some rather appealing jittering & juddering undercurrents running through it.
Really the whole disc is such a missed opportunity due to the naff & weedy production. It really could have been a very promising & rewarding addition to the rapidly growing HNW scene, but as it stands at present it’s deeply flawed & rather frustrating due to the production choice.
