Damien De Coene — Frenetic Inertia
Frenetic Inertia is grimly pummelling ‘n’ bleakly rattling slice of walled noise from Spain’s Damien De Coene. He’s been erratically active for the last five or so years in the euro wall/ bleak drone scene- with projects such as Charles Razeur, Verwelk, Renoffski, and Dod Cathedral.
This is a self-released digital release- taking in a single just over thirty nine minute ‘wall’- which retains both its battering intensity and grim un-relentless through out.
The ‘wall’ brings together a rapidly galloping low end with a speeding ‘n’ roughshod rattle. These are edged by nastly rolling & cracking sub tones, which nicely enhances the pummelling quality of the whole thing.
It all feels rather akin to been barely hanging on to a antiquated/ roughly held together horse carriage- which is racing down the most uneven/ overgrown race course you can imaging. At points you feel it might all blur together, but De Coene always just managers to keep it held together.
It’s always great to hear new material from De Coene as he always puts out consistent/ crudly battering/ rewarding ‘walls’ and Frenetic Inertia is no exception to this rule.
