Cute Puke — Simulated Murder Party
Packaging wise the clear shelled-yet-green insert tape comes in a color slip sleeve which shows a puddle of puke outside a car door- the release came in an edition of twenty copies, and as of this review they still have copies left.
The tape takes in six tracks in all, and these run between one & five minutes apiece. Things kick-off with the track “emetophilia”- and this like much of the release runtime- is a blunt, battering & messy sonic attack. We have roaring ‘n’ un-harmonic guitar set to chug, & messy, careering, and very cymbal heavy drum attack- with the whole point been just pure sonic bludgeoning. Track three “pastel pills and degenrate thrills” starts with simmering 'n' discordant organ stabs tipped with cymbal battering - later we get engulfed by guitar effect pedal sear & more aggressive drum cluttering. The longest track here is the five minute & forty-two of "attractive acid burnout girlfriend"- here we move from ugly & blunt cluttering drum & guitar noise, off-key wavering whistling, stop/ start guitar 'n' cymbal abuse, and towards the end, discordant organ runs.
Simulated Murder Party is noise rock at it’s most hooked-up, ugly & un-harmonic- there are zero melodies, little shape, and nothing remotely nuanced here- the pair just spurt their nasty & noise sound at you in a barraging maelstrom with no care for who or what gets spewed-on.
