Coffins/The Arm & Sword of a Bastard God — Split
First up we have the three Coffin tracks which includes a cover of a Pungent Stench track Bonesawer. All three tracks are punishing, fuzzed and vomit encrusted stumbling beast of tracks that really slam you back with a number of brutal gut punches, the heavy & crude sub Morbid Angle riff craft of Bonesaw is particular impressive, but all three of the tracks pack a punch with really nice grimy production. The Arm & Sword of a Bastard God four tracks are not as nasty sounding, but still brutal enough with chugging riff craft, more percussive fills and guttural/demonic vocals . Taking in slowed bass lined doom runs and mid pace riff kicking’s, with quite a crusty punky sting here and there in some of riffs down strokes, Certainly I look forward to hearing a full length in the near future.
It’s all packaged in a rather nice Pushead like Skull & grimness fold out artwork sleeve. A satisfying excise in doomy ‘n’ nasty riff kicking, fashioned for prime heaviness and brutality.
