Cheapmachines — Fulcrum/Hardwire
Can you imagine having your head slowly been flatted between a junk yard crusher, that’s been powered by very whirling ‘n’ rushing turbine?...well that’s something like the sonic experience of the first track here “Fulcrum. The track is extremely full & pressing mixture of churning, weaving, billowing & roasting noise textures that are fed into a truly impenetrable mass of sound. The track remains painfully dense & crushing through-out, though at times it does seems like there is layer movement here, but I’m not sure if there is or not….as it could well be just ones mind trying to make sense of the intense crushing 'n' rushing noise mass your inflicting on it.
Track number two is entitled “Hardwire” and once more it's very punishing, but it’s takes a slightly different tact from the first track. This track is built around a rumbling ‘n’ pummelling drone that’s fed over the by a grating tonality- this second tone sounds like what a mass of empty bottles might sound like as there carried along a factory convey belt at high speed. As the track progresses the two elements seem to bleed & meshing into each other in this most intense & airless manner, again this may or may not be happening, & it could just be my poor mind trying to make sense of this bleak & truly punishing sound wall. The track does ease back a little in it's last three or four minutes, as it dips into descending rumbling & juddering wall making which nicely gives one the feeling of something slowly dying down in its spin or rotation.
So if your after a truly dense, unforgiving & airless noise attack, this lengthy two pronged sonic attack on your sensors could well be for you... but approach with caution as this is damn fierce & un-escapable noise matter.
