bURNTSPOOn & No Fun HNW — Split
Here we have an extremely crude & nasty two wall-noise split. It brings together the rather mysterious bURNTSPOOn, and No Fun HNW- one of the projects of South Carolina-based Krys Marshall who has been decidedly active in the US wall scene over the last few years.
This is a digital release on Cincinnati’s Stemms Audio. For cover art we have a lo-fi/ monochrome photo of drug paraphernalia for you guessed it- shooting up.
So first up we have bURNTSPOOn’s untitled track- which is the longer of the two tracks, at dead on the thirty minute mark. It brings together a mix of manic chop ‘n’ rattle and murky bass rumble ‘n’ churn- all to create a ‘wall’ that is both busy, manic, and very crude in its attack. I guess for sound comparisons- imagine some huge & snappy monster with its tail stuck inside at full speed food mixer, and you get an idea of the ‘walls’ intensity - as it just managers to hold it’s shape/ form throughout.
Next we have the No Fun HNW track, which once again is untitled. This runs at twenty minutes. The ‘wall’ is blend a low end concrete floored purr, and steady cluttering hack. It feels akin to been forced to lie flat & spread eagled- as a huge cement mixing truck pours it’s load over you- as your whole begin is submerged in the pressing ‘n’ weighty churning sludge.
All in all, this is a most engaging two track trip into crude, crushing, and nasty walled noise. It certainly is wonderful to see No Fun HNW, and it’s like focus on making the most gnarly & nasty walls.
