Bloodcraving — House by the Cemetery
This release takes it’s title, influence and artwork/gory stills from Lucio Fulci's unhinged, gothic atmosphere thick haunted House meets ultra gory splatter masterpiece that is 1981’s House by The Cemetery. And while the half an hour ‘Wall’ on offer here doesn’t capture any of the films gothic, creepy or unhinged undertones- it does more than capture the ferocity and frenzy of the films lead monster/ zombiefied killer Dr. Freudstein and his brutal attacks. The ‘wall’ here is built around a constant, unrelenting, body crushing and thick ‘ liquid endlessly rushing own pipe’ tone. The ‘wall’ is kept locked at fairly fast pace through-out and there is zero change or deviation from it’s unstoppable brutal roll.
All told it’s a rewarding enough & pummelling slice of HNW matter, through it does rather lack that special and hypnotic edge that makes you want return to a ‘wall’ often. So if you after a very brutal, skull cracking and limb pulverizing slice of wall making pick this up, just don’t expect anything too re-playble.
