BlackOut Order — The Obscenities On All Fours
BlackOut Order is a solo project from Ramirez, and from the sonic evidence on offer here the project is based around often violent & ear grating textural based harsh noise with some wallish dwells. The back & front covers of the release feature fitting pictures of kneeing naked male slaves, and naked ‘n’ bound men.
The single near on eighteen minute track on offer here finds Ramirez going from: all manner of scuttling grey static tone, to painful high-end piercing noise sears, to roasting whooshes, onto scratching & abrasive mid-end judders & eye watering high pitch jitters, through to tumbling ‘n’ violent ripping dwells, and beyond. The track has a quite open almost noise improv feel to it, with Ramirez varying the textured map a lot along the tracks length. I can certainly appreciate what he’s trying to do here, and here ‘n’ there I enjoy some of the textural dwell, but as I’m not a great a fan of piercing higher end -noise I found the whole thing not really my cup of tea.
The track on offer here is a varied of almost improv stop/ star often dense/seared noise work, with a lot of the textures reaching the more higher piercing levels….one for those who enjoy more searing & high-end noise attacks
