Bad Algorithm — ???- Mystery
The tape offers up a side long track per side of tape, and on side A we have the oddly entitled “at those times I count backwards from one hundred and snort heroin”. The ‘wall’ is built around a rapid ‘n’ raging mixture of three or so noise textures, and these take in: a billowing ‘n’ crusty judder, a battering ‘n’ bitter jittering, and low end galloping. These textures are locked together to form a rapid & firm ‘wall’, though each noise texture here has a certain amount of shift/movement in its attack. So this is a nicely battering ‘n’ crude slice of active walled noise.
Over onto side B, and we have “The Closet Scene”. This ‘wall’ is built around a roaring & chugging mass of torn ‘n’ ripped low end noise textures- we have: a intense/ huge sounding churning judder, a crude swirling jitter, and this worming sort of static tonality. The ‘wall’ feels a lot thicker, airless & suffocating than the first track, but once more there are a nice selection of grinding ‘n’ torturing shifts/swirls with in the walls body. Again this is another enjoyable but damn brutal slice of wall-making.
So all told this C20 offers up two effective slabs of crude, brutal & active HNW. If you dig you ‘walls’ punishing ‘n’ thick, yet still layer shifting this is well worth a look.
