Astro — Astral Orange Sunshine

Astral Orange Sunshine brings together four spacey and swirling electronic unfolds with a Merzbow favourite the EMS Synthi as the main sound generator here, but this for the most part stays noise free- with only the last track  diving into noise matter towards it’s middle.

It’s all the work of  Hiroshi Hasegawa part of Japanese noise/ psychedelic project C.C.C.C and it was  recorded between 2004 and 2007. The four tracks take in near on a hours running time going from; unfolding pluses and waves of star-licked synth trails, to more pressing and eerier tone swells, to spaceship hover and  zip off in to space pitches, to cold metallic throbs, drones and licks of sound. It all keeps fairly cold & barren through–out, never really showing anything too melodic or warming. This is music for shifting of dead planets or hopeless stagers for life in ailing space craft.  As you’d imagine the tracks are fairly long with the first track Incubation, clocking near on half an hour and also been the more ambient and less volatile. The last two tracks lasting around the 15 min mark a piece, tend to be denser and more pressing with the last track even rapturing it’s self  ever so often into noise downpours.

Of interest to those who enjoy dark-star bound space music that bounders on noise ever so often. It will be interesting to see what  Hasegawa future intergalactic electronic adventures hold as this is rather effective & rewarding.
