Arecibo — Trans Plutonian Transmissions
The album offers up six tracks that fall around the ten minutes mark a piece & I’ll have to say on the whole it’s an very enjoyable & varied album which finds Williams going from: ominous & deep space sound pulsing dark synth ambient trails. Onto slow building & atmospheric techno beat work-outs that swim with intergalactic dramatics & space bound edginess, through to more hopeful star laced ambience with rising beat trails, astronaut chatter & various cosmological samples- that brings to mind the work of Brain Eno, the Orb or even Mike Oldfield’s more spaced out albums. Williams mangers through out the album to nicely change the atmosphere from brooding, sinister & dark, onto mysterious & adventurous, through to hopeful & rather pleasingly mellow.
Like the other recent of reissue of Isolrubin BK( Willaim’s dark & violent 1990’s car crash project) ‘Trans Plutonian Transmissions’ shows many more often surprising sides to Mr Williams sonic talents. All in all a very rewarding varied & often approachable album that will appeal to anyone who’s into space bound electronic music of any form.
