Adrien Griveau-Hue — Enlightened Depths
Enlightened Depths is a one-hour slab of rolling bass- boil and tumbling static-based wall noise from this French noise maker. The digital release appears on Poland’s Gates Of Hypos.
For cover art, we have a murky grey/ yellow/ slightly pixelated picture of a length of something, maybe wood or steel… it looks like a deep-in-the-ocean picture, which of course links into the releases name/ feel of the wall.
The dead-on hour-long ‘wall’ is a fairly simplistic blend of two key textures- a constantly rolling bass tone & a static hiss. Both elements are rapid in their feel- very much suggesting a sudden descent down and down through a murky ocean. The ‘wall’ is totally set in its pattern flow, textural tone, and general tunnelling fixedness.
This is most certainly a wall release for those who want to zone out in a constantly descending & feasting wall-craft. Sure, it’s simplistic in it’s make up/ presentation, but if you're looking for block-the-world bass battering & hiss-roasting walling, Enlightened Depths will fit your need
