624175 — Anew II
After seemingly being away from the wall noise scene for a few years- here’s a new single-track release from Bangkok’s 624175. It’s a decidedly industrial take on the walled form, with some searing high ends coming into play, as well as some neat tone detail.
Seemingly the 624175 project began in 2012. With to date around twenty releases to its name- and seemingly most of these are digital-only releases. Cover artwork wise for this release we get a picture of what looks like white & pink flowers- covered with white paint, earth/ dust, and drops of water. All in all a nicely arty cover- which compliments well the sonics within. Drop by here to check the release out
The single self-titled track comes in at the fifteen-minute & thirty-one-second mark. At the centre of the'wall' is a blend of bashing mid-range and rolling thick hack. Around this, we find a shifting selection of the following elements higher pitched almost harmonic tone swipe, muffled low-end purr, & a baying-like fork- which shifts from sounding distressingly pained to playful. The layering/ balancing of the whole thing is extremely well done- which makes replays so worthy. As the ‘walls’ vibe, I’m getting a rewarding mix of bash ‘n’ burr industrial sluggish-ness, broodingly sinister, and yin/yan sound detail which shifts between playful to unease.
Anew II is my first taster of 624175 work, and I must say I was rather impressed. As the 'wall' utilizers fairly original textures- which are presented in a balanced/ interesting manner. I’ll certainly be looking into the project's back catalogue, and hopefully, they will be some new material from the project in the near future.
