Amandine - Waiting for the light to find us [Fat Cat Records - 2006]

Waiting for the light to find us is a 20 minute ep heart warming and tuneful collection of country come rock pop tunes. In the manner of later Teenage Fan Club and Tom Petty, or a more upbeat Neil Young. But adding very much their colours to the tuneful tracks.

All the songs follow a similar pattern weaving together guitar, piano, percussion, plucked banjo and accordion, taking in a traditional verse/chorus structure to the song caft, but making it somehow welcoming. Weathered by heartfelt vocals soaring into emotional ups and downs. Sure this won’t change your world or bole you over with its strange and wonderful sound, but this Swedish four piece really do have the good tune writing craft down to a fine art.

Music to hum along to, that pervades emotional and tuneful honesty, that will have you wanting to dip your self in its warming waters again and again.
