English Heretic - Visitor Guide: Your passport to the Qliphoth [English Heretic Collection - 2007]Visitor Guide: your passport to the Qliphoth finds the mysterious English Heretic once more presenting a collection of mind altering & unnerving sound worlds that mix together uneasy ambience, electronica, field recordings, with slight rock, jazz touches too. Along with linked texts that are a mix of ocultic fact/fiction & UFOology. This time around they present their text/musical package & journey into the unknown/ know in a two cd set. On the first cd are three articles in Pdf form taking in a 30 pages of text and on the second disk 70 minutes of music, sound. The three themes/ subjects taken in this time around are; Orford Ness- the site of an abounded military installation that was used for atomic test and the developed of early version of the star wars system & the sites ufo & occult connections. A magic ritual carried out on the site of London’s centre point in 1949 by ‘the father of witchcraft” Gerald Gardner & oculltic links in the central of London. And lastly Rendlesham Suffolk that was the site of the most well know British Ufo sighting and it's possible link to the ancient winter rite of Mithras. With many of the tracks elements and textures where recorded on the various site and then manipulated back at English heretic’s base. The first and longest track at near on 25 minutes is A Threndoy for the Energy of Nagasaki which is built around sound recordings/ atmospheres derived from the Orford Ness and flows for the most in dread filled ambience and voice like tones. Later tracks see the appearance of the English professor type voice of the Heretic collective- delivering sinister texts, stretched chants ect over a mix of dark psychedelic electronics, post rock elements, field recordings and off course ambient uneasy. Another intriguing and unevering sound/ text trip from the English Heretic with thier distinctive sound that will surely be of interest to anyone who enjoys ocutic/ uneasy music & sound. with the only slight let down been that the packing is not as impressive as their Wyd Tales book & cd set, but that’s a minor quibble & at £6.00 for the set you cant really complain -to find out more about this disk and the Heretics Work go directly here.
