Gudrun Vocals are often  sexy, sensual and sleek against the tight throb alternative funk beat patterns, or playful and mysterious against looped old dusty record samples. Or emotional and very real against more piano and acoustic guitar led elegant beat pattens. She has managed to make an album that clever straggles both pop and more expermermentail touches, weaving memorable and quirky songs, which can also can be tough and cool, or sensitive and human. Every song has its surprising or inventive element, be it looped-out old Germanic organ pump or weird throat tapping rhythmic elements or  weird folds of street sounds put into sliding avant-pop structures.
