My Demons Pissing in A Bucket - Leak Eternal [Self release - 2022]Leak Eternal is release number two from Damien De Coene’s lo-fi and crude wall noise project, My Demons Pissing in A Bucket. It takes in a single thirty-seven-minute ‘wall’, which is compelling battering in its blunt ‘n’ bumbling flow. The release is a digital self-release by Mr De Coene. Just like the project's first release, it's cover features a thick black frame with a densely squibbed pen drawing in its centre. The release can be found here.
Featured here we have a single self-titled track that rolls in at 37.46 mark. For this ‘wall’ the vibe feels a lot eerier than the project's previous work, but it’s still extremely lo-fi in its attack. It’s built around a constantly rumbling and slightly rattle judder- this is edged by galloping, to skating static textural grain. The whole thing has a blunt and dried up quality to its setting. Imagery wise I’m get a rust eaten tire inner, rolling on and on down a dusty and rough road- as hazy and yellowed half-light squints down. The textures are layered together in a manner that is both crude and deeply atmospheric- with one kept well and truly focused into the track over its nearing forty-minute runtime.
It's great to see De Coene carrying on with this project, as I really am a sucker for lo-fi and nasty wall-craft, and I do like the way he’s brought in more eerier atmospheric subtleties into the ‘walls’ flow and construction. I’m very much looking forward to hearing what he does next with the project. Roger Batty
