Snuff Film - Bone Collection [Breaching Static - 2013]Texas based Snuff Film offer up a brutalizing, suffocating & unrelenting take on the walled noise form. “Bone Collection” is a CDR release on Iowa based HNW/ Noise label Breaching Static( which is run by Alex of Boar, I Watched You Die, ect)- the CDR presents the listener with a single forty five minute slice of truly intense & overloading HNW. The CDR comes in a black crape paper CD sized slip sleeve that features a grainy black & white stuck on picture of a pile of skulls. Along with the unlabeled CDR, there’s a single white paper inlay that details the tracks name, and the label/ project contact details. The track is built around a fixed mass of rapidly streaming ‘n’ galloping noise, which is brutally weaved into by a mixture of the following muffled textures: rapidly jittering static, subterranean roaring & billowing, and hints of rushing aquatic like undertones. The ‘wall’ is very urgent, overloading & airless in it’s vibe, and to me it brings to mind been stuck in some vast steam powered torture maze, as you become more exhausted & overwhelmed. The track kept my focus through-out, and while this is far from re-inventing the HNW wheel, its consistent & engulfing enough in it’s attack. Though at times the noise layers do seem to shift a little, mainly this is a example of fixed, overwhelming, and scaldingly dense HNW. So if you enjoy overwhelming, brutal & rapid walled noise this is well worth a look. Roger Batty
